Lunden Stallings apologizes over resurfaced racist tweets

Social media influencer Lunden Stallings put a pause on her honeymoon to address the backlash mounting against her after old racist tweets of hers resurfaced.

Stallings, 26, a TikTok celebrity who’s known for showing off her lavish lifestyle with her now-wife Olivia Bennett, garnered the internet’s wrath shortly after her picturesque wedding over the weekend when a post on Reddit exposed tweets from more than a decade ago of her casual use of slurs.

The tweets appear to be dated between 2012 to 2014, with Stallings, a white woman, repeatedly using the n-word dozens of times in casual posts.

“There’s been some tweets of mine that I learned about yesterday, back 10 to 12 years ago, that had resurfaced. That’s not who I am, who I was as a teenager,” Stallings said in a TikTok story apology video backed by her wife.

“I just want to acknowledge and recognize that I am completely and utterly disgusted and ashamed and honestly embarrassed at how normal it was for me to speak that way on Twitter and for my friends and I to address each other that way or for me to sing along in rap songs,” she added.

“That’s nobody else’s fault but mine.”

Stallings’ video, however, only garnered further backlash, with many claiming it was inappropriate to address such a scandal via her TikTok story, which disappears after 24 hours.

Stalling and Bennett’s shared TikTok account, which has more than 703,000 followers, does not currently have any video addressing the apology as of Wednesday afternoon.

Stallings, a white woman, admitted that she was in the wrong and said she was embarrassed by her past use of the N-word.

One Reddit user rejected the apology, writing: “She was more than old enough to know better here, coupled with the fact that she had legit HUNDREDS of tweets dropping the N word. And she’s deleting every comment on her social media asking about it. What a disgrace.”

Another TikToker with the handle “nawalor noel” summarized the problem with Stallings’ apology in her own viral video, which has been viewed more than 1.5 million times.

“If you’re willing to step up and accept your past and take accountability for your actions, you gotta take the heat,” Noel said.

The controversy came following Stalling’s much anticipated wedding to her partner, Olivia Bennett.

“If you’re so ready to acknowledge all these things, you have to listen to what people have to say, especially when you have such a large following,” she added.

Stallings did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
