Magazine predicted in 2004 what ‘Friends’ cast would look like in 2024
Could they be any further off?
A resurfaced Star magazine spread from 2004 predicting what the cast of “Friends” would look like in 2024 is making its rounds on Instagram and Reddit for being, well, “rude,” as one fan put it.
The magazine claims to have used “computer magic” to see how Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay),(Chandler Bing) and Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) would all look 20 years later.
And as 2024 is a mere five months away, the actors would have to get a lot grayer and “puffier” in the foreseeable future to match up with the computer-generated images.
For starters, Star claimed that Schwimmer “may go gray by age 57, but he won’t lose any of his boyish charm.”
“Rachel: She’ll be puffier, but Jennifer will always have great hair,” the mag said of Aniston, now 54.
“Joey: Matt will remain every bit the ladies’ man at age 56,” it said of LeBlanc, while also predicting, “Monica: Courteney will still be stylish in her late 50s.”
“Matthew: Behold the Matthew of 2024—could he be any more jowly?” said Star magazine, giving him a receding hairline and grey hair.
Kudrow got the nicest prediction of all, which reads, “Twenty years won’t matter to Lisa, who’ll still be flashing that cute smile.”
The Post has contacted reps for Star and the cast of “Friends” for comment.
Fans were delighted by the epic failure of Star’s predictions and sounded off in the Instagram comments.
“Aging software acting like the Friends cast wouldn’t have access to plastic surgery or medical esthetics 😅,” one said.
“These people are in their 50s, not their 70s,” another claimed about the stars’ blunt gray hair and wrinkles.
“Jennifer Anniston probably sold her soul to stay so young looking just to thwart this Star article lol,” a third critic posted about the star’s age-defying looks.
“Was ‘Friends; in 2024 created via The Sims?” someone else asked.
“Nice to know the aging software for ‘Friends’ not only sucked, but was so rude lol,” a final person wrote. “These were all amazing.”
