United close in on Onana deal
The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United are getting close to a deal to sign Inter Milan Andre Onana, with a transfer fee almost agreed.

“It’s understood that a deal in the region of £43million is set to be finalised next week. Onana is discussing personal terms, but there are not expected to be any problems.
“Erik ten Hag is keen to work with his former Ajax keeper again after deciding that it was time to replace David de Gea as United’s No.1 after 12 years at Old Trafford.”
Another ‘keeper on his way
The Mirror also thinks that the Onana deal is close to agreed, but also mention that Zion Suzuki could be arriving as a back-up, in a much cheaper transfer from Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds.
”United are expected to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan in the coming hours following a breakthrough in talks, but head coach Ten Hag is pushing for a back-up stopper to also arrive with the expectation that David de Gea has played his last game for the club.
“Should Suzuki join the Old Trafford club he will be viewed as a back-up option who they hope can eventually develop into a challenger for first-choice. The 20-year-old has earned one cap for the Japan senior team but was also eligible to play for Ghana via his father, while he was born in the United States.”
United banned from Mbappe transfer
The Sun, meanwhile, suggest that Manchester United’s prospective Qatari owners might incur a ban on transfer dealings with PSG.
If the two clubs share owners, or are perceived to, then UEFA may step in to stop something it sees as collaboration.
“United are set to be taken over by Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani after he beat Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the bidding.
“And the club will have to prove they are independent from Paris Saint-Germain’s Qatari ownership if they want to conduct transfer activity with the French giants”
Neymar may be tempted by MLS
With his Paris Saint-Germain future up in the air, Brazilian striker Neymar might be offered a way out by New York City FC, which opens up the possibility of the 31-year-old taking a detour to Manchester City first.
“Neymar has not ruled out the possibility of playing in MLS once his time in Europe concludes. While he is sought after by several clubs and there have been talks of a potential return to Barcelona, the Brazilian star has not closed the door on a move to the United States.
“One factor that could sway the decision in favor of City Football Group is the possibility of Neymar moving to Manchester City, a team owned by the consortium, before making the transition to the U.S. league and continuing his career outside of Europe.”
