Man Utd given huge Victor Osimhen asking price as Bayern Munich look to Harry Kane alternative – Paper Round

United given Osimhen asking price

Both Manchester United and Chelsea now know the asking price for striking target Victor Osimhen, at Napoli.

The Premier League side have been linked with the striker, but, “‘The only club that could afford Victor Osimhen is Paris Saint-Germain,’ president Aurelio De Laurentiis,” said, reports the Mirror.

The paper also writes: “Chelsea and Manchester United have been warned they would have to shatter the Premier League transfer record to land £170million Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The Italian club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis appears to have priced English clubs with a move with an insistence that only PSG – struggling to keep Kylian Mbappe from Real Madrid this summer – are serious contenders.

“Both the Blues and United are keen to sign the striker, who finished top of the Serie A golden boot standings as Napoli won the Italian title last season. But De Laurentiis has now poured cold water on the suggestion he could move to a Premier League club.”

Bayern look to Alvarez as Kane alternative

The Sun report that Bayern Munich will look for another Premier League striker as an alternative to Harry Kane, if they cannot agree a deal for the England international.

“BAYERN MUNICH are lining up a loan move for Manchester City man Julian Alvarez if they cannot secure a deal for Harry Kane,” the paper writes.

“The German champions are being heavily linked with a move for Tottenham’s talisman as he enters the final 12 months of his contract in North London.

“Bayern have already seen a bid of £60million turned down by Spurs bosses.

“And they are thought to be preparing a second offer in the region of £70m plus add-ons.

“However, it is still believed to be a way off the £100m valuation Tottenham have placed on the head of their all-time record scorer.”

Bayern to raise funds for Kane

While City might look to Alvarez according to some reports, another paper suggests that they will instead start selling players in order to raise money to afford Kane.

The Mail states: “Bayern Munich are prepared to sell Sadio Mane for just £17million this summer in an effort to raise funds for Tottenham superstar Harry Kane.

“Mane, who endured a turbulent debut season in Bavaria following his £35m move from Liverpool last summer, is one of seven Bayern stars on the chopping block.

“The serial Bundesliga champions had hoped to lure Kane to the Allianz Arena for around £70m this week, capitalising on the fact that Spurs could lose their superstar for free next summer when his contract expires.

“ Bayern hope to raise £17m from Mane, who headlines the seven-man list, £12m from Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer and up to £34m from Barcelona target Benjamin Pavard.

“The most expensive player on Thomas Tuchel’s transfer list is 21-year-old Dutch starlet Ryan Gravenberch, who is hoped to raise up to £42m.”

Forest look at Henderson and Sa

Nottingham Forest are negotiating with Manchester United to land Dean Henderson, who appears to have no chance of replacing David de Gea.

The Telegraph reports: “Nottingham Forest are locked in talks with Manchester United over a deal for Dean Henderson and are also considering a move for Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.

“Forest want to sign two new goalkeepers this summer and England international Henderson remains their No 1 target if an acceptable fee can be agreed.

“Henderson spent last season on loan at the City Ground and is ready to end his 12-year association with United this summer.

“The 26-year-old joined United’s academy at the age of 14 but is now prepared for a new challenge after failing to make a first-team appearance since Feb 2022.”
