Man Utd move six clear of Man City at top of Women’s Super League as Millie Turner strikes for late winner
Manchester United moved a step closer to the Women’s Super League title after an injury time 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Friday night.
The scores were level heading towards full time when Millie Turner turned up on the 93rd minute to head home a dramatic winner.
United have yet to win a WSL league title, and when Rachel Daly scored either side of Leah Galton’s effort, the home team appeared set for three points of their own.

However, Nikita Parris struck on the hour mark to level the scores at 2-2, and with the game entering the fourth minute of added time, Turner converted Katie Zelem’s free kick.
The away side may feel fortunate to come away with a point, let alone three, as they rode their luck with Villa hitting the crossbar twice, though United had a goal disallowed just before half time.
The win moves United six points clear of local rivals Manchester City and seven above current champions Chelsea.
City play on Sunday at home against Reading, while Chelsea are next in action on Wednesday against Liverpool.
As for United, they next take on Tottenham Hotspur on May 7.
