Manchester City target bargain summer swoop for Chelsea defender Levi Colwill – Paper Round
Manchester City want Colwill
Manchester City are considering a move for Levi Colwill, with the youngster doing well at Brighton.
Despite planning to return to Chelsea from his loan spell in the summer, the huge outlay at Stamford Bridge means they may be ready to sell fringe players to raise funds.

“He has made 15 appearances for the Seagulls this season, keeping six clean sheets.
“With two years left on his Chelsea contract, he is set to return to West London at the end of the season.
“Man City… are sensing an opportunity to poach him away from Stamford Bridge.
“Chelsea have spent £600million across the last two transfer windows.
“And they are expected to offload players in the summer to recoup some of those funds.”
Ten Hag targets Ferguson
Manchester United are looking at Brighton forward Evan Ferguson as a potential striker this summer, according to The Mirror.
The 18-year-old is out injured so will not face United in their upcoming FA Cup tie, but he is seen as a more affordable option than either Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen.
“The Irishman has enjoyed a breakout season, scoring eight times, which has captured the attention of several Premier League sides, including the Red Devils. Ferguson was poised to be facing Ten Hag’s side at Wembley with a final place at stake, but will now miss out through injury.
“One of United’s main aims this summer is to add a striker with Ten Hag looking to add more firepower. Ferguson is on a shortlist that also includes the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, although the Brighton star would be a far cheaper option.”
Liverpool keen on Bayern midfielder
Another player who may join Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool this summer is Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
The youngster joined from Ajax but is yet to establish himself as a regular starter, and so could be tempted to move on, while Liverpool need to refresh their midfield.
“The Dutchman was one of European football’s most sought-after players last summer after breaking into the Ajax first team and eventually moved to the German champions for £21m.
“However, the 20-year-old has struggled for game time under both Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel and is now assessing his options.
“Jurgen Klopp is desperate to overhaul his midfield options this summer and is keen to progress with plans after ending his pursuit of Jude Bellingham earlier this week.
“Gravenberch features prominently on Liverpool’s list of midfield alternatives and a representative of the club met with his father in Holland this week for initial discussions.”
Carlyle Group line up investment
The scope of their ambition is not known, but with a third round of bids to come for the club, they could take a minority holding that might even seen the Glazers remain in place.
The report explains: “A US investment group with assets worth more than £300bn is in the race to secure a stake in Manchester United ahead of final bids for the club.
“The Carlyle Group has been engaged in talks for some time and appears certain to table an offer for minority investment by April 28, sources confirmed.
“Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe remain the only parties to confirm they are launching outright purchase offers of the club. However, Raine, the New York brokers conducting the sale, are known to have heard from a clutch of US investment groups about alternative options.
“Hedge fund Elliott Management has put together a proposal, while Telegraph Sport disclosed how another rival firm, Sixth Street, requested papers as it mulled over an offer.”
