Manchester United could return for Sofyan Amrabat transfer this summer as Fiorentina willing to sell – Paper Round

United target Amrabat could move this summer

The Sun believes that Sofyan Amrabat – subject of a bid this January from Manchester United – could now be allowed to leave Fiorentina at the end of the season.

United are expected to see Fred leave in the summer, and manager Erik ten Hag has spoken of wanting to add depth, so the 26-year-old Moroccan international could again become a target.

The paper states: “MANCHESTER UNITED transfer target Sofyan Amrabat could be granted permission to leave Fiorentina in the summer.

“The midfielder’s agent has revealed that the Italian club is open to the idea of letting him go, but only if a suitable offer is received.

“Mohamed Sinouh told Kora Plus: ‘For now we don’t have any offer for the summer, but now at least Fiorentina is willing to listen.

“‘A promise they made when the president rejected all the offers in winter.

“’We received many offers during the January transfer window, including one from Manchester United, but an agreement cannot be reached.’

“The Red Devils made Amrabat a top transfer target ahead of the January window.”

Leicester set to appoint Marsch

Offering a long-term deal to Jesse Marsch has persuaded the American, who was in charge at Leeds, to agree to move to Leicester City after he turned down Southampton.

The Mirror reports that he is now due to replace Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.

“Leicester City have turned to former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch as the man to save their season in their battle to stay in the Premier League,” the story claims.

“The Foxes are hoping the American can repeat his Elland Road rescue act where he took over from Marcelo Bielsa and kept Leeds in the top flight against all the odds. Since sacking Brendan Rodgers Leicester have spoken to a few candidates but Marsch’s energy and ideas has seen him emerge as the number one target.

“Marsch turned down an approach from Southampton to replace Nathan Jones in February because the Saints were only prepared to offer him a deal until the end of the season. It’s understood that Leicester and Marsch have agreed a contract for the rest of the current campaign plus another three years.”

Arbeloa could take over Real with Mourinho

Alvaro Arbeloa’s relationship with Jose Mourinho when the duo were at Real Madrid has led the club to consider promoting the former defender to assistant manager should Mourinho be brought back in as Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement.

Before then, the club’s former striker Raul had been considered the most likely internal candidate.

“Real Madrid’s Under 18s coach Alvaro Arbeloa has jumped ahead of the B-team manager Raul as a serious candidate for next season if Carlo Ancelotti does move on, but there’s a twist — one idea under consideration is to make him No 2 alongside a returning Jose Mourinho,” explains The Mail.

“The plan was leaked to gauge reaction this week. Arbeloa was Mourinho’s most loyal player during his last stint in charge.

“Such a move would split the club’s support down the middle, which doesn’t necessarily preclude it happening.

“If he is overlooked, Raul will seek out a foreign challenge, and having previously been sounded out by Leeds, the Premier League could be his destination.”

Is Ceballos a target for Atletico Madrid?

Spanish newspaper Marca casts doubt on Atletico Madrid making a move for Dani Ceballos.

The 26-year-old Spaniard is entering the last months of his contract in the Spanish capital and the paper reports that he was offered to city rivals Atleti last summer.

However, Ceballos’ skills did not appeal to Diego Simeone’s side at the time, though there could be interest from the Premier League after his time at Arsenal.

The paper writes:”It was there when his entourage got in touch with Atletico Madrid, the eternal rival in the capital. A call that reached the Metropolitano’s top floor asking about the possible interest in acquiring the services of Ceballos once his contract was up.

“The conversations, according to Atleti sources, “didn’t go any further”. It was contact from the player’s entourage that was not considered by Atleti as they understood that he is not a player with the profile they need in that position.

“In any case, he is not the only team that experienced the offer in Europe, where more than a few teams (especially in the Premier League) found out first-hand about the player’s availability for next summer… in the absence of an offer from Real Madrid.”
