Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo ‘opens door’ to transfer, Jose Mourinho wants Bayern Munich job – Paper Round

Todibo ‘opens door’ to summer move

Jean-Clair Todibo has “opened the door to a potential” summer transfer with Manchester United reported to be interested in the Nice defender.

The 24-year-old, who has two caps for France, could be available for around £35 million, according to The Sun.

“Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo has opened the door to a potential summer transfer,” the article reads.

“The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months. Both Chelsea and Manchester United are understood to be interested in signing him.

“Todibo’s current contract is set to expire in 2027 but he could be sold this summer for around £35 million.

“The Frenchman has admitted that he would be open to a transfer, but he is not prepared to make a full decision until the summer.

“Todibo said: ‘I am at Nice and we’re having a great season. I don’t have my head elsewhere. If I did it would be difficult for me personally and for the group too.

“’I feel really good at Nice. We’ll see what happens in the summer but we’re not there yet. I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I don’t want to give false hope. For now, I’m here at Nice.’”

“The ex-Barcelona star added: ‘Football moves quickly, you never know what’s going to happen. I’ll wait until the summer to make my decision.

“’If my decision is to stay, I’ll announce it, if it is to leave, I’ll announce it too and I’ll thank everyone, but we’re not there yet.’”

Mourinho ‘keen’ on Bayern job

Jose Mourinho is “keen” on managing Bayern Munich, according to a report in the Mirror.

The outlet writes: “Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on the Bayern Munich job and has already started taking German lessons in case an opportunity to replace Thomas Tuchel arises.

“Tuchel, another former Chelsea manager, guided Bayern to the German title last year after replacing Julian Nagelsmann midway through the season. He is under pressure, though, following Saturday night’s crushing 3-0 defeat against title rivals Bayer Leverkusen.

“And Mourinho is watching the situation with interest according to Bild, who claim that the two-time Champions League winner has even been learning German behind the scenes since departing Rome.

“Fan unrest is growing in Munich with the German giants now five points behind Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen, who have now gone 21 matches without defeat in the Bundesliga this term.

“Bayern are unlikely to be short on elite candidates if Tuchel, who was appointed as head coach last March, is dismissed in the coming weeks.”

Santos want Neymar reunion

Santos want to bring Al Hilal star Neymar back to the club when he recovers from injury, according to the Mail.

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain forward has made just five appearances since his move to the Saudi Pro League and his hometown club are said to want to lure him back to Brazil.

Neymar ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee while playing for Brazil in October.

The article states: “Brazilian side Santos are plotting a move to bring Neymar Jr back to the club after he recovers from his knee injury and finishes his ‘experience in Saudi Arabia’.

“Neymar’s current deal at Al-Hilal runs until 2025, but Santos are already plotting a move for the former Paris Saint-Germain forward.

“Club president Marcelo Teixeira has already started talks with the 32-year-old and things are said to be progressing nicely.

“He said: ‘The conversation [with Neymar] was very quick, but it’s always quick conversations that have good effect.

“‘To come back and play here, he needs to recover well from injury. He will continue his experience in Saudi Arabia and then come back here.’

“The departure of Neymar could be mutually beneficial for him and the club given Al-Hilal are struggling for space within the squad.

“Al-Hilal completed the signing of Brazilian full back Renan Lodi in January but had to remove Neymar from the squad to register another overseas player.

“The club will be able to re-register Neymar at the end of the season when he is likely to return from injury, but his future in Saudi Arabia could now be in doubt.”
