Manchester United weigh up £30m move for Sofyan Amrabat, Bayern offer Tel in bid to land Harry Kane – Paper Round
Man Utd considering £30m move for Amrabat
Erik ten Hag’s side are on the hunt for a striker with Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund top of their shortlist. But they would also like to boost their midfield and have the Morocco international in mind.
The report states: “United are closing in on a £60m deal for Hojlund and will then consider whether a move for Amrabat is viable – if they can sell some fringe players.
“Erik ten Hag is working with a net budget of around £120m, but United can increase their spending power by jettisoning players who are not wanted. United have already banked around £20m from the sales of Anthony Elanga and Alex Telles, who have joined Nottingham Forest and Al Nassr respectively.
“Eric Bailly, Dean Henderson, Fred and Donny van de Beek have also been told they can leave, while United will consider selling Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay for the right money. West Ham have been told they must pay £40m for Scotland midfielder McTominay, 26, who has two years left on his current contract. United sources have confirmed defensive midfielder Amrabat, a key member of Morocco’s side that reached the World Cup semi-finals, is on their shortlist.”
Bayern ready to offer Tel to Tottenham as talks continue over Kane
According to the report, Bayern chiefs will fly to London to meet Daniel Levy for a “new round of talks” on Monday.
The article states: “The fact Levy is apparently willing to even engage in talks with Bayern is seen as hugely significant in Germany, where the expectation remains that Kane will move.
“Bayern may also have an ace up their sleeve in the form of 18-year-old attacking talent Tel, who – according to sources in his native France – Tottenham have made enquiries over this summer.”
Tel has six goals in his 28 Bayern games and has drawn comparisons with Kylian Mbappe.
The report continues: “Bayern are thought to be willing to pay up to £86 million to sign Kane this summer, but are also confident they could land the player, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Friday, in January when he can sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club ahead of a move next summer.”
Bayern accept Al Nassr bid for Mane
Former Liverpool striker Sadio Mane could join up with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr after Bayern Munich accepted an offer for the striker, according to reports.
The article adds: “Paperwork will now be checked by the player ahead of Mane undergoing a medical.”
Mane made 38 appearances last season, scoring 12 goals and helping Bayern to the Bundesliga title.
Forest turn down £40m bid for Johnson
The report states: “It is understood the second offer was worth a guaranteed £35 million with instalments and incentives then taking the total price closer to £40 million.
“Brentford’s second bid of this summer was instantly turned down this week by Forest, whose valuation of the forward is over £50 million.
“Thomas Frank, the Brentford head coach, has identified Johnson as one of his leading targets this summer with the club’s interest stretching back over two years.”
