The first major snooker event of 2023 is upon us with 16 of the world’s top players in action at the Masters.
Although a non-ranking tournament, the prestige of the Masters isn’t in doubt with fans set to descend on Alexandra Palace looking to see who will be crowned champion at the end of a thrilling week.
Neil Robertson comes in as defending champion after coming out on top against Barry Hawkins in the 2022 final, while Ronnie O’Sullivan has his eyes firmly trained on a record-extending eighth title in London.

When is the 2023 Masters? And where?
The 2023 Masters begins on Sunday, January 8 with the final on Sunday, January 15.
The event takes place in London and will be held at Alexandra Palace for the 11 time.

What is the format?
The Masters is an invitational tournament for the top 16 players in the world. There are, therefore, eight first-round matches played over the first four days followed by two days of quarters and then the semi-finals and final are played over Saturday and Sunday. All matches are best-of-11 until the final which is best-of-19.
