Mayim Bialik was waiting for co-star Leslie Jordan when he died
Actress Mayim Bialik is sharing new details about how she learned of Leslie Jordan’s death.
Jordan passed away in October at the age of 67, after crashing his car into the side of a Los Angeles building.
He died of sudden cardiac dysfunction and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, the LA coroner confirmed to The Post at the time.
Bialik revealed that the cast and crew of the sitcom, “Call Me Kat,” was waiting for him to show up on the day that he died.
“We were all at work and waiting for him to show up at work, so it was very, very, very complicated to have the whole crew there and the whole cast,” Bialik, 47, admitted during a Tuesday appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.“
She likened the cast to a “family,” especially since it was one of the first shows that began filming again after the COVID-19 pandemic. The show even paused production after his death.
“We were all very close, and people knew Leslie Jordan as Leslie Jordan, not necessarily just as the character that he played on our show,” she said of the late actor.
“He’s been in people’s lives, especially during COVID. He was in people’s Instagram feeds. A lot of people really formed a real connection with him, and he loved that. He loved being approachable. He loved being loved.”
The Post has reached out to Bialik’s reps for comment.
Jordan starred in the sitcom as Phil, the head baker at Bialik’s character Kat’s bakery.
The show, which premiered in 2021, centers around Kat who uses money her parents were saving towards her wedding to open a cat-themed cafe.
They bid goodbye to Jordan’s character in an emotional episode that aired in January.
They addressed his absence by writing that his character and his fictional boyfriend had made their vacation to Tahiti a permanent move instead.
The sitcom also marked Jordan’s first-ever on-screen kiss with a man.
Before Jordan’s death, he had become a social media star, racking up millions of followers on both Instagram and TikTok. He often shared funny stories, sometimes about his experience growing up in Tennessee, and took his fair share of stabs at popular TikTok dances.
He starred in 17 episodes of the hit television show “Will & Grace” as Beverley Leslie, and as Mr. Blackly in the 2011 movie “The Help,” among other roles.
However, Jordan was not included in this year’s “In Memoriam” segment at the 95th Academy Awards, which upset fans.
The emotional tribute included a performance by Lenny Kravitz of his song, “Calling All Angels.”
