Meghan Markle, Prince Harry send thank you note for Archie’s birthday gift
Prince Archie was one lucky kid on his birthday on May 6 when he received a special gift from a bike store.
Mad Dogs & Englishmen Bike Shop in Montecito, Calif., left a sweet present consisting of flowers, a card, balloons and a bike for Archie’s 4th birthday — and the adorable gesture wasn’t forgotten.
His parents Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sent the company a thank-you memo for the two-wheeler.
The letter — which was posted on the shop’s Instagram account on Thursday — was written by the Sussexes’ assistant, Harrison Colcord.
“On behalf of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke, and Duchess of Sussex, please accept their sincere thanks for the thoughtful gift you sent to Prince Archie for his fourth birthday,” the note said.
“The bike has brought much joy and is most appreciated by the family. They asked that I convey their gratitude at the lovely surprise.”
Business owner Jennifer Blevins and her British co-worker, Martin, were pleasantly surprised at the card, telling People more about the happy ordeal.
The bike that the two had chosen to gift the little prince was a specialized kids’ bicycle that had training wheels on it.
Blevins explained that Martin traveled to the royals’ Montecito abode to personally deliver the present.
However, security had stopped him and did an on-site background check before allowing him to leave the cycle and its other birthday surprises.
Martin and Blevins then received the card a month later after a courier stopped by their store and dropped it off.
“I was making a joke, I said, ‘It better be a thank you letter,’ and it really was!” Blevins joked. “I wasn’t expecting that. I had no idea.”
“It was so thoughtful because, you know, they took the time to write something personal and not just a generic thank you,” she said.
Blevins then noted how many celebrities have bought bikes from their establishment, however, none of them had ever sent thank you notes.
She even mentioned Archie’s little sister, Lilibet Diana, quipping that she can enjoy the bike when she gets older.
Archie’s big day was also held on the same day as his grandfather King Charles’ coronation. Harry, 38, made a quick trip to the United Kingdom for the event, spending just 24 hours to support his father.
Harry immediately jetted back home to the Sunshine State to make it home in time for Archie’s birthday party.
