Meghan Markle, Prince Harry slammed for Sussex.com website

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are back to business — and have quietly launched a new website.

SussexRoyal.com now redirects users to the newly-launched Sussex.com, which features bios for Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle, 42, as well as links to their Archewell Foundation and Archewell Productions organizations.

The foundation’s website has also gotten a face-lift, to coordinate it with the new hub’s dark navy and beige theme.

Additionally, the Sussex.com site offers a news tab that summarizes the pair’s achievements. The newest entry is a write-up of Harry presenting the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year to Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward at the NFL Honors.

Visitors logging onto the old URL are greeted by a pop-up message that reads, “This site was established in 2020 and sets out the work streams of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex prior to their move to the United States. To learn more about the Royal couple and their philanthropic endeavours, click here.”

Their coat of arms appears at the top of the homepage with text underneath that reads, “The office of Prince Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

A photo of the couple smiling and cheering at the 2023 Invictus Games acts as a backdrop for the homepage. It’s the same image they used for their holiday card last year.

Harry’s online bio calls him a “humanitarian, military veteran, mental health advocate, and environmental campaigner.” It also boasts about his 2023 bombshell memoir, “Spare.”

“The Duke is the New York Times Bestselling author of ‘Spare,’ a memoir of his life told with compassion, vulnerability, and unflinching honesty. ‘Spare’ was the publishing industry’s fastest selling non-fiction book, selling more than 1.4 million copies on its first day of publication,” the bio reads.

Markle’s bio, which is noticeably longer than Harry’s, identifies her as a “a feminist and champion of human rights and gender equity.” It also mentions her role in the “hit series, ‘Suits,’” as well as other creative efforts.

“She has written for a number of publications and created the lifestyle website, ‘The Tig’. The Duchess of Sussex guest edited British Vogue in July 2019, which was the fastest selling copy in the magazine’s history,” her bio reads.

Both bios refer to their two kids as “Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet” despite Harry and Meghan stepping down as senior members of the royal family in 2020.

Fans on X slammed Harry and Meghan for flattering themselves on the website.

One wrote, “Umm, these two nincompoops do realize they are not “Sussex,” right? The gall of buying Sussex.com, and including a royal crest, though they hate the royals, is ridiculous.”

“’The Office of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’” Grandiose, arrogant & self-serving,” another user wrote. “If this isn’t an attempt to pre-empt their anticipated removal from the Royal Family website (and other actions), it should be the catalyst to do so. Get on with it.”

Others praised the couple for the revamp, with one person writing, “Meghan outlines all the work she’s done throughout her life. I’m so proud of her for doing this. She’s taking control of her life. She doesn’t owe anything to anyone and she wants you to know that yes, her children are in fact a prince and princess.”

“The Sussex.com website is going to make a lot of people cry and I am here for it. However, I am so proud of Harry & Meghan for doing things the way they see fit & having some of the best people working for them. Onwards and Upwards! 2024 is our year to celebrate them!” another posted.

A third person praised the site for looking “modern, fresh, & concise.”

The online redesign comes as royal expert and author Ingrid Seward claims Prince William is “upset” over Harry’s 24-hour visit to London to see their cancer-stricken father, King Charles III.

“William would be upset that Harry yet again has chosen to make this visit to see his father a PR opportunity,” Seward told the Sun.

“As far as William is concerned he has absolutely no interest in speaking to Harry until Harry behaves like a gentleman and apologizes for the years of rudeness and slurs he has aimed at William and the Princess of Wales.”

Markle did not join Harry for the brief visit. Harry met up with Charles at Clarence House, but did not reunite with William.

The redheaded royal was seemingly in a hurry to get back to the States, attending the NFL Honors in Las Vegas on Thursday. The surprise appearance sparked rumors that he and Markle could have attended Super Bowl LVIII, but Page Six reported that the duo skipped the big game to prepare for a trip to Canada for a celebration marking one year to go until the 2025 Invictus Games.
