Meghan Markle, Prince Harry ‘wounded’ after Emmys 2024 snub: expert

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are licking their wounds following yet another Emmy nomination snub, according to a PR expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s names were once again left out of the nominations list — despite their “Harry & Meghan” docuseries setting a record for the biggest debut for a Netflix documentary.

And Hollywood guru Lynn Carratt believes the snub has left the runaway royals feeling “wounded.”

“Meghan and Harry may feel slightly wounded by not receiving an Emmy nomination,” Carratt told the Mirror. “But they were up against some tough competition for nominations.”

Carratt noted that it wasn’t the couple’s first snub at the Emmys, and the pair were reported to be “devastated” last year after not getting the recognition they felt they deserved.

Their show failed to score any Emmy nods — despite the project bringing in a total of 81.6 million hours watched.

What’s more, the pair were notably absent from the awards ceremony, which was postponed from September 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

“Meghan herself is no stranger to missing out on Emmy nominations, she spent seven seasons in the TV show ‘Suits’ which never received any prestigious Emmy or Global Globe award nominations,” Carratt noted.

“She was submitted for nomination in 2018 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her last season starring as Rachel Zane in ‘Suits,’ but she never made the cut.”

Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, now have just one project left as part of their lucrative $100 million Netflix deal, signed back in 2020.

The five-year deal is up for renewal in 2025.

The couple had purchased the screen rights to the popular romantic new release “Meet Me at the Lake,” by Carley Fortune, to turn it into a film for Netflix.

They handed over $3.8 million in exchange for the rights, and it’ll be their first non-documentary venture.

As for a rumored return to Hollywood, Markle signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME) CEO Ari Emanuel and his team in April and has recently teased several “exciting” projects she’s got in the works.

The Sussexes were recently slammed by a top Hollywood exec, who said the pair have “no original ideas” under their belt.
