Meghan Markle ‘stan’ spreads conspiracy that Kate Middleton’s cancer is fake

One of Meghan Markle’s biggest fans is claiming that Kate Middleton’s cancer is fake — and even wondered if the Princess of Wales was “still alive” days after she shocked the world by revealing she was undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” for an unspecified illness.

“I personally do NOT believe Kate Middleton had/has cancer,” Johnathan Perkins, the director of race and equity in the University of California Los Angeles’ Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), wrote in a recent tweet, which was first reported by the Daily Mail.

“The Royals presumed cancer/chemo’s mere (vague!) mention would quash concerns re Kate’s absence – it mostly did!”

In other posts, the lawyer wondered if the princess was “in a coma or dead” and wrote that “King Chuck and Kate do NOT deserve my respect.”

The Post has reached out to Perkins, who once called Markle an “American princess,” for comment.

Perkins, who said he is a cancer survivor himself, questioned whether the royal family “was using the Cancer Card™️ to silence speculation” over Middleton’s long absence after the planned abdominal surgery that led to her cancer diagnosis.

He also condemned society’s treatment of the word cancer, saying it treats the disease “like a death sentence.”

Perkins has been in remission from lymphoma for 15 years, he announced on LinkedIn.

Since then, he has become an advocate for black health care after his symptoms were “shrugged off” before his cancer diagnosis.

“These are but two of the many common racist myths poisoning U.S. healthcare—and obviously a big part of how and why black people receive substandard care and tend to die early,” he wrote in an Instagram post on March 29, 2023.

Last month, Perkins tweeted, “FYI, this is an American Princess Meghan Markle stan account,” alongside a regal-looking photo of the former “Suits” actress.

He also accused “whole tabloid departments” of being “dedicated to making up crap about Meghan Markle,” the Daily Mail reported.

Perkins makes more than $125,000 at UCLA, according to Daily Mail.

He joined the university more than five years ago, starting as a research fellow, before joining the EDI office in 2019, according to his LinkedIn.

It is unclear if he faced repercussions from UCLA over his tweets. The Post has reached out to the school for comment.

In a statement to Daily Mail, a spokesperson said: “Statements on [Perkins’s] personal social media account don’t reflect the views of the university.

“UCLA’s values] seek to foster open-mindedness, understanding, compassion and inclusiveness among all in our diverse community,”

In March 2022, Perkins came under fire for tweeting, “No one wants to openly admit [we all] hope Clarence Thomas dies” when the Supreme Court justice was hospitalized for an infection.

UCLA said at the time that his comments did not “reflect UCLA EDI’s views,” the Daily Mail reported, adding that Perkins did not issue an apology for the remark, which was deleted by the social media platform then known as Twitter.

Perkins did not face any repercussions for that remark, either.

Prior to his role at the prestigious California university, Perkins worked as an associate attorney at Harvard University and attended the University of Virginia for law school, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2011.

He also sits on the board of trustees for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is the director of diversity and inclusion at Minds Matter, a non-profit organization that helps low-income kids become college-ready, according to his LinkedIn.
