Meghan McCain slams ‘Ghost of John McCain’ musical set inside ‘brain of Donald Trump’
It’s fair to say Meghan McCain won’t be see the upcoming musical comedy “Ghost of John McCain.”
The 39-year-old outspoken daughter of the late former Arizona senator took to X on Tuesday to express her disgust about the off-Broadway musical, which is set to come to the Soho Playhouse over Labor Day Weekend. The production will run through Nov. 5 – which is election day.
“This is trash – nothing more than a gross cash grab by mediocre desperate people,” Meghan quote tweeted a Deadline article about the production.
“I hope it bombs,” she added.
The Post has contacted reps for Meghan for further comment.
The show’s synopsis claims it is “a musical comedy set inside the brain of Donald Trump that got under the skin of Meghan McCain.”
Former president Trump and the McCain family have been at odds ever since he called John, a Navy veteran, a “loser” in 2015 because he was captured as a prisoner of war.
John died in 2018 of cancer just shy of his 82nd birthday.
Meghan co-hosted “The View” during Trump’s presidential run from 2016 to 2020. Despite her conservative views, she openly criticized “The Apprentice” star and had a friendship with Joe Biden, who she said supported her throughout her dad’s cancer battle.
She left the morning talk show in 2021 amid tensions with her fellow co-hosts — and has less-than-glowing memories about her time on ABC.
Meghan previously addressed the musical in January when a development workshop was announced.
“My family has not authorized it nor was aware of it,” she told The Messenger at the time. “I was as surprised as everyone else to see the announcement.”
Its producing team includes political strategist Jason Rose and the former presidential candidate’s longtime campaign consultant, Max Rose.
