Meghan McCain wants ‘The View’ co-hosts to ‘move on’ from mentioning her: ‘Crazy old people’
Meghan McCain wants her former co-hosts at “The View” to “move on” from mentioning her — but not before she throws in a few last disses of her own.
McCain, who appeared on the daytime talk show as the resident conservative panelist from 2017 to 2021, had less than fond memories about her counterparts on Wednesday’s episode of the “Your Welcome” with Michael Malice podcast.
“The thing about ‘The View’ is that I didn’t know when I signed my contract with ABC that this is forever, that, for the rest of my life, I’m going to be bullied, yelled at, abused, and brought up for years,” McCain, 39, explained. “I haven’t been on that show in years. And I’m just trying to live my life.”
The political commentator and daughter of late senator John McCain added that she “didn’t know” when she agreed to do the show that she would “have to deal with these crazy old people just yelling about me all of the time.”
“I go whole swaths of time without thinking about them — whole months without thinking about the show or anything,” she continued. “And apparently, I’m just on their minds every day. And it’s pathetic.”
Her choice words come after current “The View” co-host Ana Navarro seemingly referred to McCain on Dec. 14 when the panel was discussing President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.
“Look, did Hunter Biden influence-peddle on his last name? Yes, he did. So did half of Washington,” Navarro said. “People sitting at this table did it.”
Navarro later clarified that she wasn’t referring to any of the show’s current hosts, which led McCain to believe she was talking about her.
“I don’t understand why my former colleagues @TheView @ABC bring me up and slander me on an almost weekly basis,” McCain tweeted after the broadcast. “It has been years – move on, I have. I have never been accused of a crime in my life and am a patriotic American – I would never and have never ‘influenced peddled’ in my life, let alone with foreign adversaries.”
“Not all politicians children are the same – and I am no Hunter Biden,” she added. “All accusations are absurd, defamatory and slanderous. I will be consulting my lawyers regarding what was libeled against me on ‘The View’ this morning.”
The Post has contacted reps for McCain and “The View” for comment.
McCain left the show in 2021 after frequently butting heads with Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.
In October, McCain likened “The View” to “looking at an ex-boyfriend’s Instagram — it’s just not great for you,” she claimed.
In addition to slamming her former workplace, McCain also slammed Bradley Cooper’s new movie, “Maestro” on Wednesday, claiming she “could barely get through it.”
“I’m frustrated I wasted what little free time I have open at night (with 2 young kids) watching it,” she continued in a tweet. “Why are so many Oscar buzz movies like this and so disappointing? Who are these movies for?”
