Memphis attempted murder suspect Ramone Ivory pulls bag of cocaine out of rectum after arrest

A Memphis man wanted for attempted murder pulled a bag of cocaine out of his rectum in front of police officers who arrested him, according to police.

Memphis Police received a tip Thursday that a man with an attempted murder warrant, Ramone Ivory, was selling drugs outside of a gas station, WREG reported.

Officers allegedly watched Ivory make a number of hand-to-hand transactions at the store, which had a “no loitering/trespassing” sign at the entrance, before a task force moved in and arrested him, cops said.

He was found with a gun with 14 live rounds in the magazine, a scale and several baggies in his pocket, according to police.

Ivory had active warrants out for attempted murder and employing a firearm with the intent to commit a felony.

After he was placed in the back of a police car, he told officers that he had drugs in his rectum.

The officers let Ivory out of the car so he could “dig” for the drugs, police said.

He plucked out a white powdery substance — later identified as cocaine — and stomped it out on the ground, mumbling to police that “it was 3.4 grams.”

Ivory was charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal trespassing, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a firearm.

He is being held at the Shelby County Jail on a $215,000 bond, jail records show. He is scheduled to appear in court next on Monday.
