“I’m very happy to go through,” said Rybakina.
“I managed to change my game in the second set. I was not rushing so much, I was not playing that fast maybe.
“I’m not really happy with my first serve percentage but overall it was a good match and hopefully I can continue like this.”
Both players missed break points early on the match, before Rybakina finally broke in the fourth game to take a 3-1 lead.
However, Trevisan dug deep and got the break back with a lucky point as the ball touched the net and rolled over with the scores now as 4-3.
Rybakina showed her class by breaking back immediately and held serve to seal the set.
From then on, it was all about the Wimbledon champion as she raised her game while Trevisan began to falter.
Rybakina’s power put her on top and she won every game in the second set to advance into the semi-finals.
The other-quarter-finals see Pegula take on Potapova later on Tuesday night, with Ekaterina Alexandrova versus Petra Kvitova and Aryna Sabalenka against Sorana Cirstea on Wednesday.
