Mikaela Shiffrin delivers in giant slalom for world title No. 7 at Alpine World Ski Championships

Mikaela Shiffrin delivered a statement victory in the women’s giant slalom at the Alpine World Ski Championships.

The American, leading after the first run, survived a huge slip in the final turns to bump Federica Brignone down into silver.

It was Shiffrin’s seventh world title, with the 27-year-old winning at least one gold at every championships since 2013.
