Mike Tyson reveals Jamie Foxx’s ‘mystery’ health condition
Mike Tyson has claimed that the “mystery” health scare Jamie Foxx suffered was a stroke.
Foxx, 55, was treated at a Chicago facility that specializes in treating adults with “severe complex conditions,” reportedly including stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and cancer rehabilitation.
“He’s not feeling well. They said a stroke. I have no idea what happened to him,” Tyson, 56, said on the PBD Podcast.
The Post has reached out to Foxx’s reps for comment.
It was initially unclear what Foxx’s condition was, and he was first hospitalized in Atlanta, Georgia.
On April 12, Foxx’s daughter Corinne, 29, announced on Instagram that her father was under emergency medical care.
“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” the statement from the family said. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.
“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
A month later, on May 12, Corinne took to Instagram to give an update on her father’s condition, disputing claims the family is preparing for the worst.
“My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!” she said in an Instagram story. “Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”
Foxx was photographed filming “Back in Action” with Cameron Diaz, 50, just one day before he was rushed to the hospital. While he has been bedridden, production continued with his body double after a short pause.
The “Ray” star took to Instagram on May 3 to thank his fans and followers for their support.
“Appreciate all the love!!!” the post said. “Feeling blessed.”
People close to him were asking his fans earlier this month to “pray for Jamie,” TMZ reported, and many of the actor’s celebrity friends have publicly shared their good wishes.
Kevin Hart gave an update on his pal’s health status on the May 2 episode of the “Impaulsive” podcast, sharing, “To my knowledge, there is a lot of progression. My love, synergy, energy goes out to him. He’s needed. He’s necessary. I know that he knows that.”
“Masked Singer” host Nick Cannon divulged to Entertainment Tonight on April 24 that Foxx was “awake” and “alert.”
“We love it. That’s family right there,” Cannon said.
Actor Martin Lawrence told Extra on April 21 that Foxx was “doing better,” adding: “Not only one of the best entertainers, but a good person … My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him.”
