Military aircraft crashes in same area in as many days

A second military aircraft in as many days crashed in the same area that Marine MV-22B Osprey went down Wednesday.

The Naval Air Facility El Centro in California said in a Facebook post a military aircraft crashed near Yuma, Arizona.

“EMERGENCY ALERT! We have received reports that a military aircraft has crashed about 35 miles north of Yuma, AZ,” the air station stated. “Federal Fire and other local first responders including Reach are headed to the scene. We have no other information at this time. As we are able to confirm information we will release it here. Please be patient as we work through this incident.”

Thursday’s crash comes after all five Marines aboard a MV-22B Osprey died Wednesday after that aircraft went down in a Southern California desert, military officials said.
