‘Mistress’ accused of shooting at lover’s girlfriend, baby

A Florida woman in a suspected love triangle has been accused of shooting at a car carrying her lover’s girlfriend and her 1-year-old child, police said.

Zehra Percy, 20, was taken into custody Friday in connection to the incident Nov. 4 in South Daytona, police said.

Police had responded to an apartment complex in South Daytona shortly after 9 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

The victim told the police that she and her toddler were headed to a local Wendy’s when she spotted a silver Acura she said she had seen driving past her home in Daytona Beach over the last few days, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Post.

The Acura was parked outside the apartment complex, and so the victim decided to pull over next to the vehicle and find out who owned it and why they had been driving past her house.

After about 2 minutes, the victim saw her boyfriend and the father of her tot come out of an apartment with an “unknown woman,” later identified as Percy, the filing stated.

The victim briefly emerged from her car but then heard someone yell, “She has a gun,” prompting her to quickly retreat back to her car for cover.

Zehra Percy, 20, has been charged with shooting into a vehicle.
Volusia County Jail

Percy, dressed in a pink crop top, reportedly opened the trunk of her Acura, pulled out a handgun and fired “3 or 4” shots toward the victim and her car, where the woman’s toddler was strapped in the backseat.

The victim sped away and called 911. Both the mom and the toddler escaped unharmed.

Responding police officers interviewed witnesses who largely corroborated the victim’s account of the shooting.

In the course of the investigation, detectives said they determined that Percy was the “mistress” of the victim’s boyfriend.

On Friday, police located Percy during a traffic stop and took her into custody, according to the affidavit.

When asked for permission to search her car for the gun used in the shooting, the 20-year-old reportedly told them she had returned it to her “sugar daddy.”

Percy was booked into the Volusia County jail on a felony charge of shooting into a vehicle. She was released later the same day after posting a $5,000 bond.

Percy is due back in court for her arraignment on Dec. 5.
