Most of my ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ scenes were cut
“Don’t Worry Darling,” there’s more drama.
KiKi Layne was cast in Olivia Wilde’s drama-ridden movie, but the actress alleged that much of her role — as well as co-star Ari’el Stachel’s part — was slashed from the theatrical cut.
“The best thing about #DontWorryDarling is that I was lucky enough to meet @arielstachel,” Layne, 30, wrote in a post looking back at her time on the film set. “They cut us from most of the movie, but we thriving in real life.”
Layne, who has been dating Stachel since 2020 when they met during filming, also included hashtags “#GotMyCheck #GotMyMan #EverythingHappensforaReason” in her post.
The “Old Guard” actress added several snaps of herself and Stachel and a cute video of the couple snuggling at an event.
“My love. You are a queen and your talent shines so bright. I was thirsty then and I’m thirsty now,” Stachel commented on the post.
The pair are also lovebirds on screen in “Don’t Worry Darling,” playing married duo Margaret and Ted in the mysterious suburb of Victory, Calif.
The characters are seen briefly in the first half of the drama and in one scene, Layne’s Margaret is the first housewife to notice that something is wrong in her small community.
Stachel also shared a TikTok on his Instagram feed, noting: “When you end up on the cutting room floor.” The clip also included several tweets slamming his lack of lines and saying that he is a “glorified extra.”
On Twitter, one person chided Wilde: “The man has a Tony! Give him more than two lines Olivia Wilde!”
“Don’t Worry Darling” also stars Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, Gemma Chan, Chris Pine and Wilde, serving double duty as director.
The movie opened on Sept. 23 and is already on its way to becoming a box office success — with opening night raking in $9.4 million.
Much behind-the-scenes drama has followed “Don’t Worry Darling” on their press tour, with rumors of tensions between Wilde, 38, and Pugh, 26.
The “Black Widow” star was also absent for much of the press events for the thriller.
There was also much speculation that Styles, 28, spit on Pine, 42, at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival. But alas, the stars criticized #Spitgate and claimed it never really happened.
In another twist of events, actor Shia LaBeouf has refuted claims he was fired from the film, and noted that he quit due to a lack of rehearsal time.
However, Wilde claimed that she fired him to protect Pugh. “My responsibility was towards [Florence],” the “Booksmart” filmmaker told Vanity Fair in their October issue.
“I’m like a mother wolf. Making the call was tricky, but in a way he understood. I don’t think it would’ve been a process he enjoyed. He comes at his work with an intensity that can be combative.”
