Mother of twins Tierra Binion fatally shot at Florida bar

A mother of twins was shot to death after being viciously beaten by a man and his girlfriend at a Florida bar early Wednesday morning.

The deadly altercation at Mugs & Jugs bar and drive-through in Pensacola began as a fight between Tierra Binion, 25, and 23-year-old Rachel DeRise around 1 a.m., before spilling outside into the parking lot, police said.

Initially the fracas was “mutually combatant,” until DeRise’s boyfriend, Christian Ketchup, stepped in and knocked Binion out with a blindside punch, Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons told WEAR.

“During the fight, Christian Ketchup just jumps to [Binion] and punches her and knocks her aside,” Simmons said.

DeRise allegedly continued to attack Binion, jumping on her and raining blows down on her unconscious body.

Ketchup then allegedly pulled out a handgun and unloaded seven rounds at Binion, killing the mother on the scene.

He then called police and turned himself in.

Tierra Binion was shot to death outside the Mug & Jugs bar during an argument on Wednesday.

The alleged killer was charged with murder and is being held without bail.

DeRise was charged with battery for her part in the fight. She was released Thursday after posting $15,000 bond, according to Law and Crime.

“Ketchup punches [Binion] — he may have knocked her unconscious — and then she jumped back on her and started punching her again,” the sheriff told WEAR.

“Obviously there’s no reason to do that. You could have easily walked away. That’s not a mutually combatant type situation.”

Mug & Jugs closed temporarily following the incident.

Binion’s sister, Diamond Johnson, said the victim was a “sweet soul.”

“The situation elevated and escalated into something that is irreplaceable,” Johnson told PEOPLE.

“And now Tierra’s gone.”

Binion divided her time between Florida and Virginia with her husband and their four-year-old sons, and had plans to join the military, her sister said.
