MTG accuses ‘Squad’ member calling for reparations of voting to fund ‘white Nazi army of Ukraine’
Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Tuesday blasted far-left Rep. Cori Bush for calling for “reparations” while voting in favor of sending billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine.
“The Declaration of Independence was written by enslavers and didn’t recognize Black people as human. Today is a great day to demand Reparations Now,” Bush (D-Mo.) tweeted Tuesday with a black fist emoji.
Greene (R-Ga.) responded to her colleague by implying that the progressive “Squad” lawmaker was a hypocrite because of her support for funding the Ukrainian military in the war against invading Russian forces.
In the process of bashing Bush, the Georgia Republican also attacked the Ukrainian armed forces, referring to its members as Nazis.
“Just stop. You voted to send $113 Billion to the white people and white Nazi army of Ukraine,” Greene tweet Tuesday.
Greene made a similar claim last week in a tweet aimed at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Somehow this makes so much sense from the actor wearing army green everyday, fully funded by U.S. warmongers, and who just recently canceled elections, controls his state media, and has a Nazi army,” Greene said of a video showing Zelensky meeting with climate change activist Greta Thunberg.
It’s unclear if by “Nazi army” Greene is referring to the entire Ukrainian military or only certain regiments.
Greene’s office did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Greene is a backer of Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-Fla.) Ukraine Fatigue Resolution, which calls for an end to all US military and financial aid to Ukraine and demands a peace deal with Russia to be explored.
The topic of continued US military aid to Ukraine has created a rift in the Republican Party, with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and many of his supporters backing it, while several far-right Republicans have come out against continued US-taxpayer funding for the Ukrainian military.
