Multiple People Dead at 2 Locations in Nebraska, Authorities Say

Multiple people were found dead on Thursday at two homes in Laurel, Neb., a small city about 100 miles northwest of Omaha, the authorities said.

Cody Thomas, a spokesman for the Nebraska State Patrol, which is investigating, said he could not say exactly how many people were dead. He said fires were involved at both locations but could not release any other information.

Mr. Thomas said the authorities would be holding a news conference in the afternoon.

Larry Koranda, the Cedar County sheriff, did not immediately return phone and email messages.
