Naomi Judd autopsy reveals she left suicide note

Country legend Naomi Judd’s death has officially been ruled a suicide, according to an autopsy report, which revealed that she left a suicide note.

The late 76-year-old singer was found “unresponsive in her home by family” at 10:57 a.m. local time on April 30, per the report.

“She had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to Williamson Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival,” the report also stated.

The gunshot “perforated through the right side of the scalp and entered the skull through an entrance-type gunshot wound,” said the report.

“Per family, the decedent has had prior suicidal ideations and recent life stressors,” the report continued. “A weapon and a note with suicidal connotations were found near the decedent at the scene.”

The autopsy additionally said Judd had a medical history of struggling with “significant” anxiety, as well as depression, bipolar disorder, chronic idiopathic pneumonitis, hepatitis C, hypertension, and hypothyroidism.

Judd had several different drugs in her system at the time of her death associated with treating insomnia, Parkinson’s, depression and seizures, according to the toxicology report.

Shortly after Naomi’s death, her daughter, Ashley Judd, appeared on “Good Morning America” and also iterated that her mother “used a weapon” to kill herself.

Ashley, 54, also said she was the one that “discovered” her mother after the shooting.

“I have both grief and trauma from discovery,” Ashley said on “GMA.”

In August, it was revealed that Naomi had excluded her daughters, Ashley and Wynonna, from receiving any of her $25 million estate after her death — giving it all to her husband, Larry Strickland, instead. The decision reportedly offended Wynonna — who had been performing with her mom as the country duo The Judds since the 1980s.

In May, Wynonna opened up about “the pain” of losing her mother in an Instagram post.

“WHAT DO I KNOW?? I DO know, that the pain of losing Mom on 4/30 to suicide is so great, that I often feel like I’m not ever going to be able to fully accept and surrender to the truth that she left the way she did. This cannot be how The Judds story ends,” she wrote.
