Natasha Richardson’s son pays tribute 15th anniversary of death
Gone, but never forgotten.
The late Natasha Richardson died suddenly at the age of 45 in March 2009.
Her son, Daniel Neeson, 27, paid tribute to his late mom on the 15th anniversary of her death Monday.
“15 years since you’ve left this plane onto forever more. I look forward to reuniting one day but for now I take solace in knowing you’re beside me every step of the way. Hopefully, I’m making you proud,” he emotionally penned on social media alongside a black-and-white snap of the British actress.
Daniel — whose father is Liam Neeson — then gushed over the “Parent Trap” star’s love for fruity drinks such as margaritas.
“I think you would definitely be proud of my margarita skills. She was the OG margarita mama! As a kid, I used to ask her for a sip of hers, and she would gently say ‘not till you’re older,’ ” he recalled.
“Little did she know I would one day start my own tequila brand and have way too many margaritas at my finger tips,” he continued.
Daniel is the owner of a liquor label called De-Nada Tequila, which he founded in New Orleans.
Daniel then shouted out his aunt and Richardson’s younger sister, Joely Richardson.
“She always brightens my day, said to me this week that we sometimes forget that we’re on an ever spinning planet,” he went on.
“Change is inevitable, and we must embrace it with open arms. If you’re a believer or not in quantum physics, the past, future and present coexist. We’re all interconnected here and over there through love. The greatest life force. choose it above all else.”
Richardson passed away after suffering head trauma following a skiing accident in Quebec, Canada.
She was married to “Taken” actor Liam Neeson, 71, from 1994 until her death. The pair were also parents to son Micheál Richardson, 28.
Micheál changed his surname from Neeson to his late mother’s maiden name to honor her in 2018.
Richardson’s mother, iconic actress Vanessa Redgrave, 87, told the Daily Mail at the time Micheál’s choice was not meant to diss Neeson.
“That wasn’t because he wanted to avoid his father’s fame, which is enormous,” she said. “He wanted to hold his mother close to him — because she was a remarkable actress. Absolutely remarkable.”
Micheál and Daniel were just 13 and 12 when Richardson died.
Bravo host Andy Cohen also shared heartfelt condolences for the “Maid in Manhattan” star on Monday.
“Fifteen years ago today, heaven got a new angel. Natasha was ‘Perfectly Marvelous’… and left a profound impact on her friends, and on millions who she touched as an artist,” Cohen 55, penned on Instagram.
“I’m trying to put into words the effect she had on my personal trajectory and one way I’m thinking is that she unlocked a window into the world that I’d never considered.”
The “Watch What Happens Live” host and the “Wild Child” alum met through actor John Benjamin Hickey.
