Neymar overtakes Pele as Brazil’s leading male goalscorer

“A brace from Neymar in Brazil’s 5-1 win over Bolivia in World Cup qualifying has seen the 31-year-old surpass Pele as the Selecao’s leading male goalscorer. Neymar was level with Pele on 77 goals heading into the match, but now holds a record of 79 goals in 125 matches. Pele scored his 77 goals in 92 fixtures. Marta holds the record for the women’s team: she has scored 122 goals in 189 matches.”
