Nikki Haley hauls in over $11M in third quarter, nearing Ron DeSantis in 2024 GOP race
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley raised more than $11 million in the third quarter of this year, her campaign announced Monday.
Haley has $11.6 million cash on hand, of which $9.1 million can be spent in the primary, the campaign said in a statement.
The total brings the former UN ambassador and South Carolina governor within striking distance of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose campaign said they raised $15 million in the same three-month period, but only has $5 million cash for the primaries.
Haley’s haul is still miles behind former President Donald Trump, whose campaign said last week that he had raked in over $45 million.
The Haley campaign also reported nearly 40,000 new donors between July 1 and Sept. 30.
“We have seen a big surge in support and have real momentum,” said spokesperson Olivia Perez-Cubas. “Nikki is emerging as the candidate who can move America beyond the chaos and drama of the past and present, and we have the resources we need to do it.”
The former South Carolina governor has also seen an uptick in polling following a pair of strong performances in the two Republican debates held so far.
Real Clear Politics’ average shows Haley polling at 7.2% nationally, coming in third behind DeSantis’ 12.6% and Trump’s 57.4%.
Haley’s campaign has been focusing on the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire, and especially hopes to win in her home state of South Carolina.
The only female candidate in the GOP race was recently involved in a social media spat with Trump, who called her “birdbrain.”
Haley has insisted the moniker is evidence that the 45th president views her as a serious threat for the party’s nomination.
