November 2022 TV shows to watch: ‘The Crown,’ ‘Blockbuster,’ more

November is in full swing, and with it comes a slew of new and returning series. 

There’s no better time to catch up so you can wow your family with your taste in TV, come Thanksgiving. But if you’re overwhelmed by the hundreds of options out there, we’re here to help.

Here’s a rundown of essential shows to keep an eye out for. 

“Blockbuster”

The workplace comedy starring Randall Park centers around employees at the last Blockbuster video store in America. It hails from Vanessa Ramos (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) and co-stars Melissa Fumero (another “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” alum) and Tyler Alvarez (“American Vandal”). 

Where to watch: Netflix, Nov. 3.

“Lopez vs Lopez”

Comedian George Lopez and his real-life daughter Mayan play fictional versions of themselves in this sitcom about a working-class estranged dad and his estrangeddaughter reconnecting. 

Where to watch: NBC, Nov. 4 (8 p.m.).

“The Crown”

Season 5 of the royal family drama will follow the family through the 1990s, as Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage falls apart. Dominic West is stepping into the role of Charles, with Elizabeth Debicki taking over as Diana. Imelda Staunton is the new Queen Elizabeth II, with Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip. 

Where to watch: Netflix, Nov. 9.

“The Big Brunch”

If you want a fun low-stakes reality TV series, “Schitt’s Creek” creator/star Dan Levy has you covered. He’s creating and hosting this food competition series that offers chefs a chance to get their big break, all while celebrating brunch. 

Where to watch: HBO Max, Nov. 10.

“The English”

Starring Emily Blunt, this is a period piece Western set in 1890, following aristocratic Englishwoman, Lady Cornelia Locke (Blunt) who is seeking revenge on the man she sees as responsible for the death of her son. She crosses paths with a Pawnee ex-cavalry scout, Eli Whipp (Chaske Spencer) and they travel to the new town of Hoxem, Wyoming, that’s plagued by bizarre unsolved murders. 

Where to watch: Prime Video, Nov. 11.

“Tulsa King” 

Sylvester Stallone stars in his first scripted series as New York mobster Dwight Manfredi (Stallone), who has just completed a 25-year prison sentence and is sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma to form a new crew. It’s from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan and Terrence Winter (“Boardwalk Empire”). 

Where to watch: Paramount+, Nov. 13.

“Welcome to Chippendales”

A true-crime docuseries about Indian immigrant Somen “Steve” Banerjee (Kumail Nanjiani), the unlikely founder of the male strip-club empire Chippendales. Emmy winner Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”) and Juliette Lewis co-star. 

Where to watch: Hulu, Nov. 11.

“Echo 3”

Created by Oscar winner Mark Boal (“The Hurt Locker,”) this thriller stars Luke Evans and  Michiel Huisman (“Game of Thrones”). The plot follows scientist Amber Chesborough (Jessica Ann Collins) as she goes missing along the Columbia-Venezuela border, prompting her brother Bambi (Evans) and her husband Prince (Huisman) – who both have military experience – to search for her. 

Where to watch: AppleTV+,  Nov. 23.

“Willow”

The first non-“Star Wars” series from Lucasfilm is a nostalgic return to the 1988 fantasy movie of the same name, which was directed by Ron Howard and starred Warwick Davis and Val Kilmer. The series executive-produced by Howard. Kilmer will reportedly not return, but Davis will, and he’ll be joined by a new cast of characters including Erin Kellyman (“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”) on a new fantasy adventure. 

Where to watch: Disney+, Nov. 30.

“Irreverent”

A drama starring Colin Donnell (“Arrow,” “Chicago Med”), it follows a criminal mediator from Chicago who is forced to flee his life and hide out in a small Australian community — posing as the new church Reverend. 

Where to watch: Peacock, Nov. 30.
