Offset, Cardi B enlist star for new video

Winning her first Academy Award has certainly opened new doors for actress Jamie Lee Curtis.

Rapper Offset appeared on “Good Morning America” to reveal how he secured Curtis, 64, to star in his and his wife Cardi B’s “Jealousy” video. In a promotional clip, we get a glimpse at the Oscar-winning actress playing a CNN news anchor attempting to dig into the “drama” between the couple.

“Jamie Lee Curtis is a real one,” Offset, 31, said. “So, how that happened is I DM’d Jamie Lee Curtis on Instagram and said, ‘Yo, I got an idea. I would love to work with you.’”

The Migos rapper continued, “She wrote me back so quickly. She was like, ‘Yeah, I got you, but you need to follow me.’ That’s how I knew she was cool.”

Offset slid into Curtis’ DM’s after she won best supporting actress for “Everything Everywhere All At Once” at the 2023 Academy Awards. Following the no-convincing-needed conversation, the duo exchanged numbers. He said Curtis “was ready to do it.”

Before “Jealousy” was released, the promotional video featuring Curtis debuted on her and Offset’s Instagram profiles. While channeling James Brown from head to toe in the iconically bizarre 1988 CNN interview, Offset addresses cheating allegations he made against Cardi, 30, in a since-deleted Instagram Story post.

The “Freaky Friday” star, taking on the role of CNN host Sonya Friedman, gets straight to the point: “Your fans are saying there is a lot of drama between you and your beautiful wife Cardi B.”

Offset responds with a stretched-out, “Haaaaaaa,” leading Curtis to ask, “Okay, you’re not going to answer my f- -king question are you?”

After a few more nonsensical responses from the “Ric Flair Drip” rapper, he declares, “Let’s talk about some music,” before the music video’s release date of “July 28” flashed on the screen.

Offset recently delved into the false allegations that inspired “Jealousy” with radio personality Angela Yee in an interview.

“That’s my wife. I love her to death,” he started. Offset went on to explain his outburst came after the couple had been arguing, and that “if you got a New York woman, you know she’s a pitbull at the mouth.” He ultimately snapped back.

“We’re going back and forth, and I’m like, ‘Watch this,’” he said, referring to when he publicly told his 22 million Instagram followers in June, “My wife f- -ked a N- – -a on me gang yall n- – – -as know how I come.”

The “Run It Up” rapper believes he doesn’t owe anyone else an explanation for the alcohol-fueled allegations.

“The delete is enough because at the end of the day them people don’t be really knowing what’s going on with us, for real,” he said.

In a behind-the-scenes look of the promotional video posted to Instagram, the “serious fan” gushes over Curtis, claiming to have seen all of her content.

Before leaving the set, Curtis hugs Offset and gives him some life advice: “Take good care of those kids. Stay with your wife. Don’t fuck it up.”
