On the Scene: Hurricane Ian Rescue Missions

I joined a rescue operation in one of the hardest-hit communities in Florida, Pine Island, a barrier island west of Cape Coral. Hurricane Ian destroyed the only bridge connecting Pine Island to the mainland. The island also has no power or potable water as a result of the storm.
