One man killed, two wounded at New Jersey hookah lounge

One person was killed and two wounded in a shooting outside a New Jersey hookah lounge early Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Toms River police said they responded to a call of gunfire at 1:30 a.m. at a Hooper Avenue shopping plaza where the Top Tier Hookah Lounge is located.

A 29-year-old man was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River and pronounced dead, according to a joint statement released by the police and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. His name was not immediately released.

Another victim, a 29-year-old man, was in critical but stable condition and the third victim, a 25-year-old man, was treated and released.

The hookah lounge appeared to have a window blown out, NBC10 Philadelphia reported.

No arrests have been made and authorities said the investigation was ongoing.
