Ozzy Osbourne pulls out of Power Trip festival due to health concerns

Ozzy Osbourne will not make his highly-anticipated return to the stage at the first-ever Power Trip Festival in October due to health concerns.

The 74-year-old Prince of Darkness announced the news Monday on social media, telling fans: “My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, & when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward.

“Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.”

The Post has contacted representatives for Osbourne for comment.

Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003 but waited until January 2020 to go public with his diagnosis.

In June 2022, he underwent a “life-altering” surgery to remove and realign pins in his neck and back from a 2003 quad biking accident that was exacerbated by a 2019 fall.

Osbourne has since been spotted walking with a cane on multiple occasions.

Last August, he stated that living with Parkinson’s felt like he was “walking around in lead boots.”

Ozzy’s final full concert was at Ozzfest on New Year’s Eve in 2018.

He performed at an NFL halftime show in September 2022 before retiring from touring earlier this year in a heartbreaking post.

“Never would have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way,” Ozzy tweeted, claiming he was “not physically capable” of traveling to performances.

However, a month into his retirement, Ozzy teased a possible comeback.

“I’ve gotta do more gigs, [even] if I have to get someone to wheel me out there,” he told Metal Hammer magazine in May.

“I mean, you can’t retire from this game. It’s not a job, it’s a f–king passion. I don’t know how to do anything else.”

Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Metallica and Tool are scheduled to perform at Power Trip, which takes place Oct. 6 to 8 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, California.

While Osbourne won’t give it a go, he revealed that members of the band replacing him “are personal friends of mine & I can promise that you will not be disappointed.”
