Pasco County Fire Rescue pull horse out of backyard pool
There was too much horsin’ around in this pool.
A stranded horse got spooked and jumped into an above-ground pool in Florida Tuesday evening, causing first responders to come to the rescue with a tractor and harness.
The animal, named Mo, apparently tried to leap over the pool in his owner’s yard but splashed down in the shallow water. Animal rescue workers joined the first responders to hoist the animal out, with footage of the rescue caught on tape.
Pasco County Fire Rescue shared a video that shows firefighters wrapping a harness around the horse and using a small tractor to carefully yank it out. One man can be seen comforting the horse throughout the ordeal.
The horse’s owner, Cindy Buckel, was happy her pet was safely retrieved.
“He goes, ‘I can leap over that, I guess,’ and next thing we know, he’s in the pool,” Buckel told CBS 47. “It was kind of a beautiful leap into the pool. I mean, he would’ve gotten a 10 if it was a diving thing.”
“You’re a survivor,” she told the horse on camera for WSVN.
“Yes, and now I know I can add that to my list of equine stuff, water rescue.”
Pasco County officials said the horse is in good condition.
