Pat Sajak reveals next move after ‘Wheel of Fortune’ exit
He’s wheely looking forward to his new role.
Longtime “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak revealed that he is now the chairman for a conservative Michigan college, WVID Local 4 reported.
The 76-year-old, who has served on Hillsdale College’s board as vice president since 2003, accepted the position following the retirement of chairman William Brodbeck.
Hillsdale College, a private Christian school, was founded in 1844 and is located approximately 70 miles southwest of Ann Arbor.
The Post reached out to Sajak for comment.
“For decades, Pat Sajak has been an icon of radio and television. There are few things more intimate than appearing in the living rooms of countless Americans every evening,” Emily Slack, Executive Director of Media Relations and Communication for Hillsdale told The Post. “We know that he will be missed and congratulate him on his well-deserved retirement.”
“Hillsdale College is fortunate to have an even closer relationship with Mr. Sajak. Since 2019, we have benefitted from his wisdom, intellect, and good humor as chairman of Hillsdale’s board of trustees,” continued Slack.
“We look forward to continuing our important work together and to what we are sure will be a bright future for Mr. Sajak and his family. “
Sajak’s announcement comes mere days after he disclosed he will leave “Wheel of Fortune” at the conclusion of the show’s 41st season.
“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” the game show host tweeted on Monday.
“It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”
Sajak has hosted “Wheel” since 1981, while his trusty letter-turner Vanna White, 66, joined the show a year later.
Since Sajak revealed his decision to leave the show, several fans have begun speculating on who will take over the role.
The host has come under fire in recent months over his on-set behavior.
Last week, Sajak made a snarky comment to a contestant after they let out a hair-raising shriek.
In May, he made headlines for snapping at a contestant for continually answering puzzles incorrectly, asking the player, “Why are you bothering?”
