Pat Sajak spotted in Hawaii after announcing ‘Wheel of Fortune’ retirement
He’s putting the “I” in “retirement” a little early.
Pat Sajak took a load off by taking in an Air Supply concert Wednesday in Hawaii — one day after Ryan Seacrest was named his successor.
A clip of the “Wheel of Fortune” host, 76, clapping along to the soft rock group at the Blue Note jazz club in Honolulu was obtained by TMZ.
Sajak donned a bright blue and purple button-down as he sat in the front row with his daughter, Maggie, who is a social correspondent for “Wheel.”
The ’80s band played for a small, but exuberant crowd, though Sajak was spotted looking a little bored by the end of the night. He was using his phone and picking his fingernails in the video.
The Chicago native revealed this month he will step away from “Wheel” after more than 40 years. He joined the show in 1981.
“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” he tweeted on June 12.
“It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)” he added.
Seacrest was announced Tuesday as the new host, sparking some outrage over the casting.
The longtime TV personality, 48, will also serve as a consulting producer on the show.
“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest noted in a statement.
Some social media users trolled Seacrest for taking on another job.
He has hosted several TV and radio programs including “American Idol,” “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” and “Live with Kelly and Ryan” in recent years.
A few people even insisted that Sajak’s sidekick and letter turner Vanna White, 66, should have been named the new “Wheel” host.
“Should’ve moved Vanna White to host and had Ryan Seacrest turning letters. Prove me wrong,” a person jeered.
“Wrong choice. Not fair to @TheVannaWhite,” one fan argued.
“I like Ryan, but he’s had plenty of hosting gigs before. I was hoping they would give somebody else a chance,” another stated.
Sajak broke his silence on the Seacrest news Wednesday, saying that he’s “looking forward to my final season” and “handing over the car keys to Ryan Seacrest” in September 2024.
The Post reached out to Sajak for comment.
