Pep Guardiola reveals when he ‘feels something is broken’ at Man City he will leave despite new contract
Pep Guardiola has revealed he will leave Manchester City when he “feels something is broken” at the club.
He has led City to four Premier League titles, four consecutive League Cups and the FA Cup in 2019, with just the Champions League missing during his reign which began in 2016.

“I continue to say I’m not going to stay like Fergie and Arsene,” said Guardiola. “At the end [of the day], it’s just paper.
“If you don’t have good results and if we are tired of each other, I will not finish this contract.
“The contract is just paper. I extended because I have the feeling we can still play good as we showed in the last two games against Liverpool and Leeds.
“We played really good against tough sides and still had the desire and hunger. When you win a lot, on one side it’s easy but on the other side sometimes it’s complicated.
“The moment I feel something is broken, I will resign or not extend.”
City trail Arsenal by five points going into the final day of 2022, as they host Everton on Saturday afternoon.
Guardiola has been in multiple title races but doesn’t feel his experience will be a major factor in the second half of the season.
“Arsenal have done brilliantly and are better than us so far, because for a long time they were not there [at the top],” he said.
“When you are there, you want to continue to be there. Right now, we are still close. It is not 15 or 20 points. I would prefer to be closer but it is not a big distance.
“Many things are going to happen with the Champions League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup so we are still in the first leg.
“The way the title race goes is from the way you play, not what happened in the past.”
