Police Investigate Killing of a Judge in Maryland

A judge in Maryland, Andrew F. Wilkinson of the Washington County Circuit Court, was killed on Thursday evening, another judge on the court said.

The other judge, Washington County Circuit Court Administrative Judge Brett R. Wilson, said that Washington County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the death.

“We are a courthouse of six judges,” he said in a phone interview. “We all know each other very well.”

Judge Wilson declined to share additional details about his death.

A profile of Judge Wilkinson on the court’s website said that he was born in Guam in 1971 and joined the court in January 2020.

The sheriff’s office did not immediately respond to requests for information late Thursday.

This is a developing story.
