Police use search dogs at home of missing toddler Quinton Simon

Police brought search dogs to investigate the Savannah, Georgia home of 20-month-old Quinton Simon who disappeared from the house one week ago.

The Chatham County Police Department said a team of search dogs and investigators spent Wednesday “gathering and analyzing evidence” in the search for little Quinton.

A day earlier, Chatham County police said they “seized evidence” they believed would “help move this case forward” as it neared the one-week mark.

The toddler was last seen inside a playpen in the house around 6 a.m. on Oct. 5. He was reported missing by his 22-year-old mother about three hours later.

Investigators have previously searched the home as well as the family’s backyard pool, a nearby pond and other outdoor areas where the boy may have wandered off. FBI agents have been assisting the search.

Police initially stated they did not suspect foul play in Quinton’s disappearance, but are now investigating whether there was any criminality involved.

The boy’s mother believed someone may have taken him from their home when she called 911 to report her missing, according to the 911 call obtained by WJCL.

The boy was last seen in the home by his mother’s boyfriend. The boy’s biological father is not believed to be involved, police said.
