Prince George, Princess Charlotte join mourners at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral

Prince George and his sister, Princess Charlotte, were spotted sharing a sweet moment during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral Monday.

The young royals quietly whispered to each other as they watched over their great-grandmother’s coffin following the procession from Westminster Abbey through the streets of London.

Charlotte, 7, could be seen pointing something out to her 9-year-old brother as the late monarch’s coffin was placed into the hearse.

The two eldest children of the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, joined senior royals throughout the state funeral service and subsequent processions.

Prince George, who is second in line to the throne, and his sister walked solemnly behind Queen Elizabeth’s coffin as they entered Westminster Abbey earlier Monday.

The two young royals were followed closely by their uncle and aunt, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

George and Charlotte had front-row seats for the service that drew more than 2,000 guests, including world leaders and other dignitaries.

Their younger brother, 4-year-old Prince Louis, wasn’t present for the funeral service.

George and Charlotte’s appearance on the world stage comes after their mother, the Princess of Wales, told mourners last week they were “doing well” in the wake of the 96-year-old’s death.

Until now, the young royals had been largely absent from the public outings leading up to the Queen’s funeral.

George, Charlotte and Louis were not among the family members who rushed to the Queen’s Balmoral estate in Scotland when news of her worsening health first broke.

Their mother stayed behind with them as they started their first official day at Lambrook School in Windsor.

Following the Queen’s funeral service, the UK’s longest-reigning monarch will be laid to rest at Windsor Castle in a private service.

Her final resting place will be alongside her late husband, Prince Philip, her father, King George VI, her mother, Queen Mother Elizabeth, and her sister, Princess Margaret.
