Prince Harry ‘worried’ about King Charles, looking to ‘make amends’ with UK trip: ex-butler

Prince Harry is no doubt feeling “worried” about his father King Charles’ ailing health, according to the monarch’s former butler.

Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles for seven years when he was the Prince of Wales, believes that the Duke of Sussex’s urgent trip to London is his way of “showing support” to his father following his cancer diagnosis.

“I’m sure Harry will be worried about Charles, which is why I think he’s coming back to the UK to show support,” Harrold exclusively told The Post.

“I think it’s a really good thing that he’s coming back, it’s good that he’s showing support for his father, and, who knows, this might make amends possibly.”

Harrold says the duke’s trip to home soil could also “see a reconciliation between Harry and his brother” Prince William.

“It will certainly get them talking and hopefully it might open up discussions,” the royal expert shared.

“This could be a positive that comes from a negative, the brothers communicating, being there for their father, and trying to navigate a way forward.”

The father of two is believed to currently be en route to London after rushing to the airport to catch an urgent flight out of LAX late last night where his entourage was spotted in a luxury Range Rover at the airport’s VIP terminal.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle will be staying put in Montecito, Calif., with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The 39-year-old has reportedly already taken off from Los Angeles and is expected to touch down in London around midday local time.

From there, he’s expected to be whisked away to see his father, who is beginning outpatient cancer treatment.

Harrold notes that it’ll be “very much business as usual” within the Firm — even though the monarch and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, both remain out of action.

“There will be no public engagements so it’s slightly different, but the King will continue to do the red boxes and continue probably to have private audiences, but there’ll be a plan for his treatment and recovery,” Harrold said.

“Behind closed doors, it will all be happening, there’ll be a plan in place for the next six months and how it’s going to run, what royals are going to step in,” he went on.

“Right now, there will be plenty of discussions and meetings going on and planning.”

It is not known where Harry will be staying during his time in the UK, as he no longer has an official royal residence on that side of the pond.

The father of two now travels with his own security team, after his father famously stripped the Sussexes of their right to tax-funded police protection after they quit royal life in 2020.

The duke has been trying to win back UK security protection for his family ever since.
