Prince William reveals Kate Middleton recovery surgery details
Prince William has revealed new details about his wife Kate Middleton’s recovery following her abdominal surgery last month.
The Prince of Wales, 41, returned to royal duties Wednesday morning to host an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, where he handed out more than 50 honors on behalf of his ailing father, King Charles.
The event marked the first time William was seen in public in an official capacity since news of his father and his wife’s respective health woes came to light.
According to Patricia Spruce, one of the many people honored by the Prince at the event, William shared how the Princess of Wales, 42, has been getting on behind closed doors.
“What an amazing experience, the castle was just breathtaking, everyone was so lovely too [sic] us as we were just in awe of everything,” Spruce wrote on LinkedIn after the event.
“Prince William said that Katherine [sic] had two Filipino nurses looking after her and they were amazing and kind.”
The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.
At the soiree, the heir to the throne addressed photographers for the first time since Buckingham Palace announced his father’s cancer diagnosis.
“We really appreciate everyone’s kind messages,” the father of three said. “Thank you.”
Inside at the podium, William added, “I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you also for the kind of messages of support for Catherine and my father, especially in recent days. It means a great deal to us all.”
“The past few weeks have a rather medical focus, so I thought I’d come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all,” he quipped.
Elsewhere, William rubbed elbows with Hollywood star Tom Cruise at the event.
Middleton, for her part, has remained at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor where she will continue recovering until after Easter.
Also on Wednesday, William’s estranged brother, Prince Harry, was seen catching a flight back home to Montecito, Calif., where his wife, Meghan Markle, remains with their two children.
The Duke of Sussex’s stint on home soil was a short one — 24 hours to be exact — less than an hour of which was spent with his father.
Harry reportedly stayed at a luxe London hotel during his one-night getaway, rather than staying with family at any one of their many royal residences peppered across the country.
And according to Charles’ former butler Grant Harrold, the Duke decided to stay at a hotel to show the royal family that he is capable of “supporting himself” financially.
