Princess Charlotte botched curtsy for Queen Camilla at coronation concert

Princess Charlotte may be a master at adorable public interactions but even the pros stumble sometimes.

The 8-year-old princess appeared to lose her footing and trip slightly when greeting the newly crowned King and Queen of the United Kingdom, as they made their way past her at the coronation concert on Sunday, May 7.

Charlotte was captured on video curtsying as her mother, Kate Middleton, 41, and older brother, Prince George, 9, also curtsied and bowed, respectively, when King Charles was making his way to his seat.

However, the young princess appeared to trip slightly as her grandfather walked past her, though she recovered quickly, looking to her brother and father, Prince William, 40, to see if anyone had seen her stumble.

The girl’s quick glance coincided with her step-grandmother walking past, which meant she missed her moment to curtsy to her.

The embarrassing moment ended sweetly as Charlotte stood back up in front of her seat in the royal box and Camilla patted her shoulder, looking to reassure her that it was OK, with Charlotte smiling back.

The young royals stole the show at King Charles III’s coronation events, with adorable videos showing Charlotte and George singing and dancing along to performances by music legend Lionel Richie and pop star Katy Perry.

Charlotte wore a charming white chiffon dress by Self-Portrait for the concert, with her older brother matching his father in a suit and tie.

The Princess of Wales and her daughter coordinated looks the day prior, both donning Alexander McQueen ivory silk dresses and matching capes, and similar silver headpieces.

Charlotte’s 5-year-old brother, Prince Louis, did not attend Sunday’s concert but attended most of Saturday’s events, before being whisked away by his nanny after yawning during the Westminster Abbey ceremony.

He later returned to sit alongside Charlotte to sing the national anthem of the UK, “God Save the King.”

George had an important role in the ceremony, as one of King Charles’ Pages of Honor.
