Queen Elizabeth was ‘surprised’ when Meghan ‘dismissed’ her advice: book

Queen Elizabeth II was left “surprised” after Meghan Markle “dismissed” her advice about settling into life as a royal, a bombshell new book claims.

The ordeal was revealed in “Our King Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed,” the explosive new book by royal commentator Robert Jobson, set for release on April 13.

The veteran correspondent claims that the late monarch, who died Sept. 8, 2022 at age 96, told Meghan that it would be worth for her to speak to Sophie Rhys-Jones, now-Duchess of Edinburgh, who once found herself in a similar situation after marrying Prince Edward.

The Queen believed that Sophie could have acted as an advisor to Meghan, Jobson wrote in the book, seen by the Daily Mail.

However, the author said Meghan “made it clear that she would make her own decisions,” turning down the Queen’s alleged offer.

“When the Queen, who had asked her then assistant private secretary Samantha Cohen to work alongside Meghan for a bedding-in period, warmly suggested that she should turn to Sophie, Countess of Wessex for support and advice, Meghan dismissed the idea, saying: ‘I’ve got Harry,’” Jobson wrote.

Jobson added that Meghan’s “response surprised the Queen.”

The claim was previously made by yet another royal commentator Gyles Brandreth, who told ITV that Meghan said she had Harry to help her adjust to royal life.

“The Queen said to Meghan: ‘You’re new to this. Coming into the royal family, it’s not easy for everybody. Sophie Wessex, the last one to come in, maybe she can be a kind of mentor. She could advise you, help you.’ But Meghan said: ‘No, I don’t think I need that, I’ve got Harry,’” Brandreth claimed in Dec. 2022.

He said the Queen offered the advice to Meghan because of her love for her grandson Harry.

“She loved Harry,” Brandreth said of the Queen .“She loved all her grandchildren, but she loved him especially because she loved his sense of humor and I know, for a fact, that she welcomed Meghan warmly and was very keen for it to work.”

Elsewhere in the book, Jobson claims that stripping the exiled royals of their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles was discussed at “the highest level.”

However, Charles was reportedly not in favor of stripping his son and daughter-in-law of their titles, the book said.
