Queens pimp Cory Martin found guilty in murder of Brandy Odom

A Queens pimp who tried to learn how to cover up crimes through shows like “Dexter” was found guilty Monday of strangling and dismembering a sex worker, prosecutors announced.

Cory Martin, 36, is staring down a life sentence after a federal jury convicted him on a slew of charges, including murder-for-hire, over the killing of Brandy Odom in April 2018.

Prosecutors said the twisted crime was “motivated by greed” — as Martin and a co-conspirator, Adelle Anderson, took out life insurance policies on Odom, 26, leading up to her grisly murder.

Pimp Cory Martin was found guilty of murdering a 26-year-old Brooklyn woman on Monday.

Martin was living with Anderson and Odom in a Rosedale home at the time of the murder, and he pimped out both women for commercial sex work.

“It is fitting that Martin faces a mandatory sentence to spend the rest of his life in prison for this ghastly, cold-blooded crime that was motivated by greed and executed after extensive planning,” US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace said in a statement.

Martin and Anderson took out a pair of life insurance policies in Odom’s name in March and December of 2017 and then maxed out the premiums by paying through Western Union money orders and a debit card in the victim’s name.

Brandy Odom was killed in 2018 inside a Queens home.

The two also watched television shows that prepared them to carry out the twisted murder, Anderson said at Martin’s trial. She agreed to testify after taking a plea deal in the case.

The two watched true crime show “The First 48” about police work with the pair talking about “what not to do, and what things to do to avoid being caught by the police,” according to her testimony.

Martin also watched “Dexter,” a show about a serial killer who dismembered his victims, because he was “looking for ways to commit the crime when he got rid of Brandy,” Anderson said.

Martin strangled Odom in her bedroom, and then used an electric saw to cut her body up in the bathroom that he covered with heavy-duty, black garbage bags, Anderson testified.

He and Anderson then dumped her body parts in the early morning hours of April 8 and 9 of 2018 in Canarsie Park in Brooklyn, prosecutors said.

Following the crime, Martin instructed Anderson to claim the life insurance benefits under Odom’s name, but she was unsuccessful, the feds said.

“Martin saw the victim as a moneymaker, trafficking her for commercial sex, then after killing her with his bare hands, tossing out her slaughtered body parts like trash so he could profit from her death,” Peace also stated.

Prosecutors said at trial that surveillance footage showed the defendant leaving Canarsie Park on April 9 carrying a suitcase that he used to transport Brandy Odom’s torso.

“Brandy Odom suffered an unthinkable death at the defendant’s hands, but her life mattered and I hope that this verdict holding the defendant responsible brings some measure of closure to her family.”

On top of the murder-for-hire charge, Martin was also found guilty of murder-for-hire conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, aggravated identity theft and other charges.

His lawyer did not respond to a request for comment Monday.

Anderson previously pleaded guilty to murder-for-hire, identity theft and wire fraud, a spokesperson for the US Attorney’s Office said. She has not been sentenced.
