Quinton Simon’s mom, grandma caught boozing during FBI search for body

As federal agents searched a garbage dump for the remains of toddler Quinton Simon on Tuesday, his mother and grandmother were spotted downing shots of top-shelf tequila, according to a bar employee.

Leilani Simon, little Quinton’s mom and the main suspect in his Oct. 5 disappearance, was spotted boozing with her mom, Billie Jo Howell, on the deck of StingRay’s on Tybee Island, just outside Savannah, Georgia.

“They were having a great time, like they didn’t have a care in the world,” the server told The Post.

“They were drinking Patron shots in the deck area, being loud and laughing. It’s almost like they were trying to draw attention to themselves.”

The woman said a colleague eventually recognized the duo from news reports, which made other employees angry with their behavior, given the missing 20-month-old, who authorities have said they believe is dead.

“People were getting upset,” the worker said. “They just wanted them out of here. But they stayed for a long time, for hours. It was really strange.”

Pictures posted online also showed Howell straddling a motorcycle as she left a hotel on the island Wednesday.

Georgia cops and the FBI think Quinton’s body was placed in a “specific dumpster at a specific location” that would have been emptied at the county waste management facility, which they have been searching around the clock.

Quinton was last seen on October 5 by his 22-year-old mother’s boyfriend, and she later reported him missing at 9:40 a.m. after waking up, according to police.

Family Handout

Simon, who copped to taking drugs while pregnant in court this week, had texted her baby-sitter Diana McCarta and told her not to come to work in a 5:30 a.m. text message the day Quinton disappeared.

She had been in court for a custody proceeding related to her other two young children, ages 6 months and 3 years, who have since been placed in foster care by child protective services.

The 20-month-old has been missing since October 5, 2022.

Simon has a rocky relationship with Howell, who previously tried to evict her daughter from the family home and has made comments saying she doesn’t trust her.
