David Alaba said: “It’s been a great honour to play with you for the past two seasons, you’re a special player and the best striker in the world, you deserve everything you’ve got, but most importantly you’re a great person and friend. I wish you all the best for what lies ahead in your career and I am sure you will achieve even more greatness. We will miss you captain, legend.”

There has also been goodbye messages to Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard, who are both also set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu for good.
